Who We Are

Fox Island Seafoods was formed in 2023 as a family owned and operated business searching for the perfect balance of responsible harvesting wild natural proteins and directly marketing them to you, the consumer. Fox Island currently sells a selection of salmon species in 8oz and full filets, without pin bones, as well as smoked Coho salmon online.

We have a philosophy of balance—Nourish Your Body, Nourish Your Life.  Providing wellness to your plate, supporting nutrition for a balanced diet at the heart of a balanced life, sustaining healthy individuals, communities and environments.  We have a deep desire to make health your wealth, by delivering high quality protein, naturally from the wilds of Alaska - directly to you.  Our camp is just over six acres, where we gaze across the water at Fox Island that is about a mile off our shore. Fox Island was named after the Russians whom occupied this area before statehood. They attempted to raise fox on the island for fur trading. We own four limited entry Kodiak setnet permits, which stretch two miles down Deadman’s Bay. Our vision is local harvest and local processing. We are so humbled to have the opportunity to provide you with this nutrient rich, life enriching, Wild Alaskan Salmon with integrity and excellence from sea to table!

A balance of responsible harvesting techniques coupled with growing innovative food products, and our partnership with you will bring generational sustainability to Alaska salmon, fishermen, fishing communities, and consumers. Our future goals include building a small processing plant on our property, so we can further customize our products to meet the needs/wants of our customers. Fully processing our products ourselves will give us options to offer our customers other seafood products from our area, Alitak District of Kodiak, Alaska.

Our Ingredients

We harvest WILD and FREE salmon responsibly, in partnerships with the State of Alaska and Federal Agencies. Our state partners include: The Department of Alaska Fish and Game (ADF&G), Kodiak Marine Aquaculture Association (KRAA), Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission (CEFC), Alaska Department of Revenue (ADR), and Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI). Our Federal partners include National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), through responsible management, processing and marketing practices. We put passion and care into each fish harvested from the pristine waters of Kodiak, Alaska to your plate.

As a young woman of nineteen years of age, I started my wild salmon setnet journey alongside my brother of twenty-one years in our family setnet salmon fishery in the Alitak District of Kodiak, Alaska.  Adventure, exploration, obstacles and constant problem solving accompanied a life fishing in the pristine wild waters of remote Alaska.  I met my husband, married, and are raising three boys on the remote end of Kodiak.  “To live Kodiak’s authority, undergoing its process is life changing, everything is possible and nothing is guaranteed.” ~Billy Molls

My family and I fell in love with the salmon’s story, the remarkable journey they forge against all odds to fulfill a sustainable life.

Three decades later we are humbled to have purchased and formed “FOX ISLAND SEAFOODS” at the mouth of Deadman Bay.  Harvesting salmon from the renewable Olga and Frazier Lakes systems of Kodiak, we are committed to living what we love, while bringing wellness to your plate. We are blessed to be able to provide natures’ nutrient rich Wild Alaskan Salmon from Sea to Table.

Sustainability is achieved through a shared passion and resolve.  We are passionate about the unique life we live.  Like the salmon’s story, as fishers, we must swim against the current to achieve sustainability, cherish the waters we harvest from, persevere no matter the challenge and always find our way home to the Alitak District every salmon season.  We care deeply about the viability and health and wellness of our salmon runs, our communities, our partners in the Seafood Industry and YOU!  We desire to PARTNER with YOU! TOGETHER we will spread health and wellness to individuals, communities and environments from Sea to Table.  TOGETHER we build a brighter tomorrow! Sharing our true colors, being transparent about our vision and process and spawning new innovations in nature’s wild protein products available within the Alitak District of Kodiak. We are committed to creating responsible business models that uphold wellness within individuals, communities and environments.  Together we assure WILD ALASKAN SALMON are sustained generationally, both in the sea and in our diets.
